Międzynarodowa konferencja (w języku angielskim) "Abraham Joshua Heschel. Philosophy and inter-religious dialogue: between Poland and America" odbędzie się na UW, w Sali Brudzińskiego, w dniach 25-27 czerwca 2007.

Konferencję organizuje Instytut Filozofii Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego przy udziale Żydowskiego Seminarium Teologicznego w Nowym Jorku, gdzie Heschel wykładał przez ostatnie dziesięciolecia swego życia, Żydowskiego Instytutu Historycznego w Warszawie, gdzie Heschel pracował w latach 1938-39, Instytutu Adama Mickiewicza oraz Uniwersytetu w Poczdamie; konferencja korzysta też ze wsparcia Fundacji Fritza Thyssena. Przewodniczącym komitetu organizacyjnego jest prof. UW dr hab. Stanisław Krajewski. Na konferencję przyjedzie kilku spośród najwybitniejszych znawców dzieła i życia Heschla z Ameryki, Izraela, Europy. Tematyka: filozofia religii i dialogu międzyreligijnego, Heschel a Polska, inne tematy związane z jego życiem i twórczością. 

Konferencja uczci osobę sławnego teologa, filozofa religii, działacza społecznego i „proroka" dialogu międzyreligijnego urodzonego sto lat temu w Warszawie. Abraham Joshua Heschel urodzony w rodzinie chasydzkiej, uzyskał doktorat Niemczech, a od 1940 roku do śmierci w 1972 nauczał w USA.
